In November 2012, the State Council formally approved Central Plains Economic Zone Planning to build a radiating high-speed rail network.

In March 2013, the construction of Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone was approved.

In January 2016, the State Council approved the construction of China (Zhengzhou) Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone.

In March 2016, the State Council approved the construction of Zhengzhou - Luoyang - Xinxiang National Self-dependent Innovation Demonstration Area.

In August 2016, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council decided to build Free Trade Area in Henan.

In October 2016, the construction of National Big Data (Henan) Comprehensive Pilot Zone was approved.

In December 2016, Zhengzhou was accredited as National Central City by the State Council.

Iconic Events

In November 2010, the first Comprehensive Bonded Zone in Central China was built in Zhengzhou.

In October 2012, Zhengzhou was chosen as among the first batch of comprehensive “E-commerce” pilot cities.

In September 2012, UPS opened a new Zhengzhou - USA cargo liner route.

In July 2013, the first Zhengzhou-Europe International Shuttle Train successfully opened.

In December 2015, Zhengzhou International Airport T2 Terminal officially opened.

In December 2015, the 14th Meeting of the Council of the Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States was held in Zhengzhou.

In November 2016, non-stop transcontinental airline from Zhengzhou to Vancouver was opened.
